Fletcher updates prep rooms.
Track - Charts and Lights New tracking system: The motivation for our installing a new chart tracking system was to make an easier and more dependable tool for checking cameras and lenses. Cine Support Equipment provides the best tracking system we have found. Their tracking systems are used by Panavision, CSC, Cinevideotech and other top quality rental houses.
The track itself is constructed of two 16’ aluminum tubes running the length of the prep room. The tubes make it both more stable and durable. Unlike other tracking systems that ride on cheap bearings and that are mounted on flimsy drop ceilings this unite has a chart trolley that rides atop the track on four 5” diameter wheels, especially machined to mate perfectly with the tube’s diameter. To give the tracking system further rigidity and measurement repeatability it is mounted to the joist above the suspended ceiling and permanently leveled. Cabling for the unit has also been greatly reduced. Specifically, our tracking system incorporates a conductor bar channel and sled that virtually eliminates annoying cables hanging from the ceiling and possible disconnection.

Fletcher updates prep rooms.
New charts: have been manufactured for Fletcher using Cinevideotech's (Miami) innovative design . They measure 2' by 4' and include two Seaman's stars and seven test targets, containing the familiar groups of black and white line pairs per inch. The greater chart width significantly enhances the quick checking of wider lens in combination with different aspect ratios and formats. The chart itself sits in a yoke allowing it to be rotated out of the way to expose its back. The chart?s back is a specially formulated surface that enables A.C.s to easily affix and remove other charts or framing test marks. New lighting for the charts is in fact a tried and true industrial standard. It is well known that Kino Flo?s provide a flicker-free cool light. The chart system was specifically designed and manufactured to incorporate an Image 45 lighting unit. Its illumination is optimal for both film and video camera preps and it allows assistants to work comfortably and reduce possible eye fatigue. "The lens chart is sturdy and travels on a track. I just use my steel tape to put the chart exactly where I need it. It has a Kino Flo that travels with the chart for even illumination. It saves me time when prepping multiple lenses." -- Bobby Faison, Local 600 Camera Assistant
"The new Fletcher charts are a real joy to work with, they allow me to be very precise with the lens marks as well as saving time- overall they help in achieving a more quality prep for the shoot". -- K.C. Capek, Local 600 Camera Assistant
